We are delighted to confirm that LX Group MD, Bally Bhogal and Head of Quality, George Kakaire will be delivering a workshop at the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) National Conference in London on Monday 27 June.
The conference is the flagship event for all those working in the skills and employability sector and will take place over 2 days (Monday and Tuesday, 27th and 28th June) at the Novotel London West, Hammersmith.
Preparing for the new Subcontracting Standard
The LX Group workshop, entitled “Preparing for the new Subcontracting Standard”, will explore the change from the annual Subcontractor Assurance Controls Audit which will be replaced by the new Subcontractor Standard from 1st August 2022. The new standard comprises 10 key themed areas and 88 specific indicators and will be applicable to all ESFA funding streams. The lead provider’s capability, capacity and competence to procure, manage, monitor, develop and improve the supply chain will be significantly scrutinised under the new standard alongside the requirement to remain compliant with the ESFA’s subcontracting funding rules. With the focus on internal controls intensifying and the drive to reduce the amount of subcontracting in volume and value, lead providers will need to ensure they have a strong enough business and operational model and rationale to support the ESFA’s objectives for subcontracting to achieve the following:
- Enhancing the opportunities available for learners
- Filling gaps in niche or expert provision or provides better access to training facilities
- Supporting better geographical access for learners
- Offering an entry point for disadvantaged groups;
- Giving consideration of the impact on individuals with shared protected characteristics, where there might otherwise be gaps
Starting at 11.30am, this 45-minute workshop will help lead providers to understand their obligations under the new Subcontracting Standard and will help to inform and direct the preparation process through key insights and considerations.
Session objectives
- Understanding the key differences between the Subcontractor Assurance Controls Audit and the Subcontracting Standard
- Identifying how business and operational models may have to change to support the future subcontracting expectations by the ESFA
- Exploring key activities and actions that can be undertaken to help prepare for the new subcontracting standard
Who Should Attend
The workshop is designed for all lead providers with subcontracting responsibilities from 1st August 22 onwards and subcontractors with responsibilities to deliver educational services funded via the ESFA.
